DESCRIPTION: Central Place Phase II is a 24-story residential tower housing 204 residential units and a 5 story podium. The podium features a landscaped green roof, courtyards, residential amenity spaces and garden residential units. Part of the podium will be a 295 space parking garage in conjunction with 28,000 square feet of ground floor retail space and residential Porte Cochere. The expected completion date for the project is 2013. Central Place Phase II is part of the overall master plan to revitalize the downtown districts of San Jose, California. The realization of Central Place Phase II will continue the trend, started by Central Place Phase I, of bringing residential development back to the heart of the city, creating vibrant and livable urban centers. The massing for Central Place II is carefully composed to enclose and activate the public plaza to the south, fronted by the San Jose Repertory Theater. The elongated tower slab is bisected to provide windows along 3 sides for 40% of the residential units and presents a slender face to the street, maximizing pedestrian views and daylight access.
