DESCRIPTION: Marlowe is a women’s luxury cashmere company founded in Toronto, Canada. Choosing Chicago as their first location in the United States, the owners leased a space in the Grand Hyatt Hotel on Michigan Avenue. The design takes advantage of the tall space and utilizes the tall windows as a source for daylight. The design utilizes precast glass channel to create a translucent back drop for merchandise display and as a filter of the abundant daylight. Venetian plaster, custom concrete floors, and walnut display fixtures complete the minimalist material palette. The light-filled, spacious shop creates the calm, serene, and luxurious feeling sought by the owners.
