DESCRIPTION: The Richmond Avenue Office Building is a two-story, 25,000 SF mixed-use building, located in Houston, Texas. The project, intended as the Brand + Allen Architects' Houston office, includes 46 covered parking spaces and 6,200 SF of ground floor retail space. The massing of the building is setback from the street and the curved glass and metal panel curtain wall system provides dramatic entries to the retail space and building lobby. Brand + Allen Architects developed the initial project concept, spearheaded the city approval process, and coordinated a team of consultants in the development and execution of the design as well as the construction of the building. The construction of the building is Type-II; the structure is a steel post and beam system on a concrete foundation. The exterior of the building consists of a curtain wall system with a combination of Low-E insulated glass, metal, and masonry panel cladding. Construction was completed in August of 2004.
